Lightning Strikes Twice

Back when he was president, Barrack Obama, in what was supposed to be a confidential conversation, got caught on a hot mic, remarking, “…never underestimate Joe’s ability to fuck something up…” It’s a reputation that’s dogged Joe Biden throughout his political career—solid guy, likeable, good mainstream democrat, but don’t let him play around in the electric box. He got elected because he was running against Donald Trump who’d just spent four years alienating everybody, foreign and domestic. Joe campaigned from his basement and ran a very lackluster campaign, but his name wasn’t Trump. He won the election but came to office owing a political debt to every fringe element in the democratic party. It quickly became a shit-show of unqualified people thrust into jobs they were wholly unqualified for. To fulfill a campaign promise, he threw the border wide open and created a problem that will plague this country for years. He spent lavishly on social programs to appease the left and we got runaway inflation. To pacify the left, he pushed electric vehicles onto the roads before battery technology had caught up to politics. He embraced a war on fossil fuels that drove gas prices sky high and affected every American family from the gas pump to the grocery store. He appointed Cosmic Bob Kerry to fly around the world in a private jet as some kind of goofy climate czar. Even Joe can’t figure out what, if anything, Cosmic Bob did, so I guess the damage is probably minimal. Realistically, his screw ups won’t matter, if nothing changes, Joe will get re-elected because his name isn’t Trump. Lightning will strike twice, forget the polls, Trump isn’t electable in 2024…
