The following is a guest editorial by a Savannah friend, its well written and makes some interesting points- enjoy!

Reading or watching the news, one would think this country has been smoking crack. The assassination attempt on Donald Trump ramped up the far left, who feared that “the Donald” might become president through martyrdom and told Joe Biden (whom they had previously sworn was fit for another four years), that he must step down, because he now could not possibly win re-election. I blame his wife, first, for even allowing him to run again...she is closest to him and had to have known he was in decline. Suddenly and I do mean it literally, the very next day, Kamala Harris is campaigning full strength (ads and all) and she had also sworn he was not in decline. Don’t tell me they could pull a campaign together that fast- it is not possible. People- you are being played by your government and the media. This woman couldn’t handle the only job she was assigned- fix the border situation. On top of that, Donald Trump chose a running mate who is far right of Trump himself, pandering to the wingnuts of the MAGA base and thinking he was going to be running against Joe Biden and now is stuck with him, but he’s now running against the poster girl for Diversity, equity and inclusiveness.

This is like watching a three-ring circus. Donald Trump is so despised, that I see friends that I consider to be pretty smart, elevating Kamala Harris (who couldn’t even make it to the primaries in 2020 and was chosen to be VP based solely on gender and color) to be the standard bearer for mainstream democrats. In researching the possible slate of running mates for KH, it struck me that there are a couple of fellows that would have made far better candidates for the office of president than Kamala Harris, namely Mark Kelly and Andy Beshear.

That covers the far left (20%) and the far right (20%), or what I call the emotional votes, and it got me wondering about that huge block in the middle and wondering what they are thinking and are they watching this and seeing it for what it really is? My money is on those people to make good decisions in the voting booth.

Don’t be fooled by the “smoke and mirrors” reporting about what is happening. Don’t go to the voting booth in November and cast your vote, based on hate. Do your homework and really research the issues that are important to you and the future of our country. If these two clowns are going to be our only choices, research the people who would be on the down ballot, because somewhere in there, there may actually be a decent candidate for 2028.
